Dashing is a good tool to close the gap between you and your opponent or to get away from a bad time and gain your composure for your next attack. Input forward two times or back two times in order to move quickly in that direction. In past games by NetherRealm Studios there has been a dedicated block button, but Injustice 2 does away with this idea. To block you must hold Back, away from your opponent, like in most fighting games. Some of the controls require a bit of elaboration. Refer to the table below to figure out which buttons are which. In this guide all of the controls are referred to by their official names rather than the button you would press for either your PlayStation 4 or your Xbox 1 controller. The buttons used to play the game are called the controls. Some characters do not even have a meter but merely icon to represent what the Character Power is currently doing for that fighter. Because every Character Power is different every character's Character Power meter is unique to them. Next to the Super Meter is another meter for that fighter's Character Power, a unique buff or move that belongs to each character. Lastly, the Super Meter can be used to determine the winner of a Clash. ![]() You can also use divided sections of the meter to enhance your special moves by using the Meter Burn button (which burns away one bar of your meter). This is your resource that you need to fill up all the way execute a Super Move. In the bottom corners are a bar divided into four sections. The timer only stops for three things: the end of a round (when a player has lost all of their silver health bar), for a Supermove, and for a Clash. The winner in this case is decided by whoever has more health when time runs out. If you lose all of your red health then you lose the game. This is the second and final bar of health your fighter has. In this game the health for the winner of a round (whose silver health bar did NOT go empty) does not reset so they will begin the next round with however much health they had when their opponent lost all of their silver health.Īfter you lose all of your silver health you are left with a red health bar. When you lose all of your silver health, a round of combat ends and both fighters pause for a moment. When your fighter takes damage their health will decrease which takes away from of their silver bar revealing a red bar underneath. High level and competitive play will most likely see the 'stats bonuses' feature switched off.At the top of the screen are silver bars with each fighter's name above. For this reason, the game will most likely remain a system for casual players to get more involved with their favorite characters. So how does this system affect competitive play? The best solution the Injustice 2 developers have is the ability to switch off item and level bonuses when searching for online matches. Wearing an entire set of the the same items, for example, a headpiece, torso, legs, arms and unique character specific item from the same set will provide players with a set bonus. More special abilities can be equipped through the gear system as well.Įvery last item provides some kind of stat boost, with rarer items providing more specific changes. This one affects how often a character can perform their special abilities. The final stat, ability, is a little different. ![]() Strength determines the amount of damage dealt, health determines the amount of health points, and defense determines the amount of damage that can be blocked out. ![]() The stats that players will be able to improve by leveling up characters or by equipping unlocked gear are strength, health, defense, and ability. The loot rewarded to players feature additional stats boosts. Injustice 2 will also support a loop drop system that will allow players to earn loot from finishing and winning games. That's right, players that play for longer will not only have a higher skill level, but they'll also have a distinct in-game advantage. The scary part is that these gear items do offer players with inherent bonuses.įirstly, players will be able to improve their favorite character's base stats simply by leveling up over time. All of the cosmetic choices available with the gear options are exciting, and players will have to work hard to get some of the rarer items. Injustice 2 will be getting a gear system that players will be able to follow as a sense of progression while playing. For this reason, the newly announced Injustice 2 gear system is a little scary. They're so competitive, in fact, that even the smallest of balancing changes can make or break a player's viability at high-level play. Fighting games can be highly competitive titles.
